Looking for Indians

I'm looking for some 28mm Canadian Indians around the period of 1860ish to 1914. They will be featured on a snow board so will need full winter clothing. They are actually for a Pulp game (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=114095.0) but I thought perhaps the inhabitants of this board would be best able to suggest some miniatures?

As it is a Pulp game they need not be historically accurate but just need to look right. I'm not sure what they would be armed with. Their opponents/allies will be Pulp Figures from the Yukon Peril range (Mounties/trappers/gun runners/whiskey smugglers) so I need miniatures around the Pulp Figure size.

Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance.

The best bet I can think of are the Foundry Blackfoot Indians - they are all pretty wrapped up. Pick the ones in Capote blanket coats and they are probably the closest you will get to full winter. Heft should be fine next to Pulp figures

If they aren't Wintery enough (!) Warlord do a set of Winter Indians with snow shoes in their FIW range:

The hair is anachronistic, and personally I would cut it back and sculpt more generic long hair instead...

You can also field Metis as another option - they are a distinct sub group, of mixed-race (typically First Nation and French) people. Key points of clothing are sashes, Capote coats and leg wraps. Foundry Mountain Men aren't too bad a substitute, and again are pretty wintery.  Skin tones these days seem mainly Caucasian, but older pictures show more first Nation Features


As yet another option, Copplestone Castings do Inuits with rifles?

I look forward to seeing what you do- I am doing 1860s-1880s Canada, primarily the North West Rebellion of 1885 (although I am doing autumnal scenery rather than spring as I find green trees dull )

Thinking of Inuits... Bearsden miniatures do some firearm equipped figures, now owned by Badger Games

Sgt Major Miniatures did some as well I think, although not sure if anyone has bought the range...

Check Pulp Figures.
They do a Canadian line of trappers, mounties ect.
They may have some.

I have the Mounties and the trappers, I just want a third force of Indians or Metis as v_lazy_dragon suggests. Thanks for replying though, cheers.

That's a good idea. Can you get just the heads from somewhere to save cutting them from exisiting figures?

In their Winter wars ranges.
With some conversion work, that could be usefull for your project.
The figurines are correctly sculpted. I use some for a franco indian winter project, mixed with Foundry Blackfeet, indeed.
