Woolly mammoths?
«
on:

I have some beautiful Mark Copplestone cave men figures, and would like to get a woolly mammoth, or two to join them.
Not sure which way to go with model choice?
Pure fantasy, which can be expensive,
or a kids toy I can convert?
Any suggestions on model choice, please.
The Copplestone figures are big 28mm.
Cheers

My mammoth came courtesy of the local Early Learning Centre, though I
have seen similar in various children's sections of toy shops. It would be
of a suitable size for your needs. It was purchased a few years back, but
only set me back about £7.00.

I got one from a toy company online, can't remember which now and when painted up it was basically as nice as the other ones I have that cost $100-$400 (looking at you Chaos Mammoth). I can't take a picture of it at the moment because I am having it rebased, but you wouldn't know it was a toy and it is great size. Sorry I can't name the company but maybe google toy mammoth.

Got some from a natural history museum (you also find them in art galleries etc sometimes in the gift shop). But toy shops can give a few too. The museum ones are often cheaper, usually mixed in with dinosaurs

Look for plastic models from the likes of Papo or Schleich, that's where I grab my dinos. They can be quite huge (the Papo one is apparently 14cm tall) but for fantasy stuff I only see that as a pro.

My adult mammoths are from Safari Ltd.
About $6 each after 40% coupon.

I did conversions on head/neck/shoulders to give some variety.

And Tim, if your in the States you can get the mammoths at the local places with atleast a 40% coupon.
But judging by your local time to mine I think you in Europe or the UK do that may not help.

So that's where the Deezee range went.
