How I Did My Desert Terrain Cloth
«

Comrades, please find a link to my general blog which records my experiences in making my own desert terrain cloth. This in most ways builds upon the excellent work of fellow bloggers who have posted tutorials in the past few years and whom I have relied on.
A special mention to John of the superb
1000 Foot General
blog site whose article I followed with only some minor deviations. I have attempted to include more detail and observations and have included a very basic test with one more to follow.

Nice blog post there. Might try that myself, the weather is hot enough.

Good tutorial! Thanks!
I am always a little pussled that people opt for cat litter as it, in my experience, eaqsily dissolves and crumbles.

Very nice.
The mats are really easy to make, and pretty fun. They work great too. I want to do more, but the weather isn't conducive at the moment.
I made a 4x6 for myself, and a 4x4 for my brother. I also made him a 4x4 snow mat (which came out nice, but not as nice as I wanted).
I followed the ideas in a bunch of tutorials to make mine. They're all pretty much the same, just different specifics. I mixed the sand into the caulk instead of adding it on top, for example.
You can see mine here if interested.
