28mm Beutepanzer project
« on: January 13, 2019, 03:47:33 PM »
Cheers guys,

for 2019 I have a 28mm Beutepanzer (or Beute-Wheeled-Vehicle) project. I would like to build and paint 12 vehicles, one each month. Thematically I will try to stay on the balkans as much as possible, while I still have something in mind for the eastern front too. I am really interested and fascinated by Beutepanzers, which was the reason for this project.  This thread starts with my january feature:

This is a R35 / T-26 hybrid of which only one actual picture with Balkenkreuze excists:

Picture was probably taken in the balkans and turret was most certainly fixed. Some information and all speculations regarding this vehicle could be found here:: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/nazi_germany/R35_mit_T26_Turm.php

Off for some more pictures:

Cheers and best Regards
Robin

Thank you guys!

For this model I used a Warlord Resin R35 (availability was the best, the aquired Rubicon model and the Blitzkrieg model both might be better) and a plastic Rubicon turret from their T-26. Which still gives me some options for the model.

For the future I will use any manufactuters which I can access easily. Plastics prefererred but not many of the models I have in mind are released in plastic yet and possibly never will.

Next up will either be another converted vehicle with only a minor "Beute-"part in it or something small italian.

Cheers Robin

Yes I have. Whilst there is also some information that Warlord will release a plastic kit this year.

But my next vehicle will be alot smaller than this one :)

This is an interesting themed project which will be a lot of fun to follow. My own favourite Beutepanzers are the top-heavy SP guns on French chassis and universal carriers with PAK 36 AT guns....can never get enough carriers with PAK 36.... ;D
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Something like this?

Warlord Lorraine, painted last month for my DAK.

Next will be something small italian. Up to your imagination until soon :)

Wow yes.  Your painting of the details is outstanding.

Small and Italian? A CV tankette is too obvious. I am hoping for a captured semovente 47/32.... ;D
