How to make waft of mist ?
« on: January 13, 2019, 08:04:18 PM »
I am working on some GW ghost minis from the Soul War range.
And I am thinking about adding some more waft of mist coming from the ground, but have no real idea how to do them?

So I thought someone here on the LAF might have an idea?

Thanks Thomas
These days it's Wargods and Warhammer Armies Project I am working on !

Sounds like a cool idea, I have seen people using cotton balls or flock foliage to create a smokey/misty effect if that helps.

Take some cotton wool, place some glue on the base (where you want
the whispy bits to be) attach the cotton wool to the glue and leave it to set.
Later gently pull some of the cotton away. either leave it as is, or give it
a light spray (your choice, either hairspray or varnish) it is possible to
position it before the spray dries.

I had a nice bonus when our dogs decided to destroy their bed.
The stuffing was a lovely bright green. I use that for my ethereal mists.

If you are going point to point you might look at dryer sheets.  Check out the link and scroll down to the spider webs tutorial.  It might fit the bill.

You could try filter materials (this is a type used in kitchen exhausts)

or else polyester filling material
