Sci fi ship tiles
« on: January 30, 2019, 06:45:03 PM »
Hi folks,

I'm looking for some sci fi printed card tiles like those used by fantasy wargamers for dungeon games.

Specifically I'm looking for a sci fi/industrial modern equivalent that could be used for spaceship interiors for games where we play boarding actions. I haven't found anything that would suit my project yet so was wondering if I could ask whether anyone out there had found some?

I did see the GW Blackstone Fortress tiles, but sadly I need more than that!

Thanks

Have you triedDriveThruRPG.com

I like Ryan Wolfe's stuff for myself, he has several past projects that may meet your needs.

Or you could cannibalise a set of board pieces from something like Space Hulk? Or Space Crusade?

There were some ship tiles for one of the Star Wars miniature games, not the recent Legion stuff but the one that was knocking about a decade ago.

For 15mm I seem to recall that there were some Traveller deck plans
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

These (by the legendary Space Jacker) are good, though 15mm in scale. But you could presumably scale them up in printing, just as people scale down 28mm plans when printing for 15mm. And in fact, as the grid's 20mm already, you'd only need to print them at 125% for 25mm squares:

And they're very cheap!

worldworksgaes has several sets of print your own ships.  first light, shadow core and celestus pravatis http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?view=catalog&genre_id=3  Future armada (on wargamevault) also has posters of ship deck plans.  however most are about three feet long.  Just noticed that Future Armada is by Ryan Wolfe.

Star Trek Adventures has modular deckplan tiles - the Klingon set here (also available in PDF here) is more industrial-style than the TNG Starfleet set. They're scaled for the game's 32mm miniatures, but should work with 28mm as well.

Whilst it's fully 3D terrain, Battle Systems' sci-fi stuff could be set up as a single-level dungeon crawler type system.

I've made good use of Dave Graffam's Spaceport Tile sets - easily resized and lots of layering options.  Here's some of the same in action:
