I while ago I bought myself a 3D printed tower off EBay, it's designed for use in Legion and after a bit of work sanding, I managed to get it looking OK. There's more photos on my blog (including a crashed Speederbike objective marker). Have a look here:

Those horizontal printing lines together with your painting looks like old and aged concrete. Very nice!

I've seen this door somewhere and sometime before... but can't remember. Was it part of the tower?

Cheers, the lines were the best I could get with hours of sanding, so I'm glad they look like concrete. The door was part of the tower, it's typical of the ones you see on Tattooine, I think. Maybe that's where you're remembering it from?

Indeed; very nice.

I could do with one of those myself I reckon...

And I suppose concrete is one of the very few represented materials that are not hurt or even downright benefit from printing lines!

If you buy any more prints or make your own, Smoothon makes a two part resin that flows like thick paint and can fill in some of the print lines. It's not magic, but can cut a lot of sanding time off a project.

I didn't know about Smoothon. I had seen online about using gloss varnish to do the same thing. I tried it out, but had moderate results really. That's why I went for the tried and tested sanding, but I will certainly check out Smoothon for the future, thank you!
