The paper model of the Hunt class destroyer i used to build my resin version from came with a little coastal frighter. A motor ship running with a Diesel engine. As I had a bit of time in between bigger projects I decided to build that model in 6mm for Cruel Seas ,too.

Because of popular demand I generated a page for purchasing my ships.  Just bear in mind that the ships are meant for wargaming! These are no scale models intended to win building championships with! Just follow the link https://wargamesgazette.com/1-300-ships-for-sale/.

S.S. König
This is the start of a steam ship liner. It is a generic ship and based on a lot of contemporary pictures. I wanted to reuse the hull of the S.S. Bellota to safe me from doing a new hull and mould. should be more cost-effective this way. As you can see I work with o core of extruded polystyrene clad with paper for detailing. When you paint that later on with a diluted PVA it gets rock solid.

Thank you von Lucky.

Auxiliary gunboats were used by the germans during WWII in a great variety . This is the MS Louisa converted into such a vessel . These vessels were used for security and convoy support.

As there are quite a few ship models I made, distributed round the world now ,I thought it might be nice to show a few pictures of models build by you.

Lets start with a Hunt Typ II class model made by Karl Forder. What I especially like is that he put a barrage balloon up at the back of the ship!

I did some more work on the MS Louisa as a Auxiliary Gunboat. Named VP 1037.

Here are some pictures of the build and primed model:

Why, do you probably think, a submarine for Cruel Seas? the rules don’t include real submarine warfare as written. And Yes you are right but the “Boot” is so iconic for WWII naval warfare that i had to do one. I use rules proposed by David Manley in his rules for coastal warfare ( Action Stations). They can be incorporated or combined with Cruel Seas.

So there are quite a lot of U Boat models in 1/350 ,like the one below made by Revell, but they are not waterline and basically to small for my taste.

You can see clearly how much longer and wider the model is in comparison .

I finished the coastal freighter as a auxiliary Gunboat. The weapons are as always from the Warlord and Heroic & Pos weapons sets. VP 1037 is a Vorpostenboot as it was very often used in the channel , north sea and the baltic during the second WW. It was used for escort duties for small convoys , or for escorting U boats back to base through the biscay sea.
