I am thinking about new fantasy project inspired by Rangers of Shadow Deep and my recent return to some of my favourite children books - the Lone Wolf series. The plan is to change the setting: turn rangers of Alladore to Kai Lords and Sommerlund soldiers; the allies of Lorenthia to Durenor; the Shadow Deep to Darklands. I would like to follow the oldschool esthetics of briliant illustrations by Gary Chalk. I am more than happy with conversions but I need proper base for the project.
The rangers and soldiers could be easily covered by oldschool Bretonnians and GW LOTR minies from my collection. But I have issue with the basic evil soldiers and monsters.
The mighty Gourgaz? This beast by GW is obviously OOP for very long time.
Perhaps Warhammer Kroxigors with some converting?
5th edition kroxie
7th edition kroxies
I would appreciate your ideas.
Proper Giaks?I own full collection of metal orcs made in the early 2000s by the Perry brothers for the LOTR range by GW. Some of them seem very "giak" to me! Small size, big teeth, parts of metal and leather armour, mostly sabres and spears...
For example the plastic goblins by Northstar are too big for giaks. Any idea for alternatives?
DrakkarimThese heavilly armed warriors are the biggest problem. I have no idea for a solid representation.
Thanks!
