What a handsomely Heath Robinson looking contraption. Did these make it out to Egypt and the near east do we think? If so, I might venture one for my desert war collection  :)

Edit: oh yes. Wikipedia says 30 served with the 11th Hussars in the desert, and although the big tyres coped well with the soft sand, they proved too lightly armed or armoured, and were retired halfway through the North African campaign...

They served as HQ cars for the Rolls Royces, due to the roomy interior.  Certainly in Regt HQ and Sqn HQs and judging by the numbers fielded, probably Tp HQs as well (though 'D' Squadron, which was actually the RAF No.2 Armoured Car Company doesn't appear to have used them - they also used an older pattern of Rolls).

Just notified, mine is in the mail.  Looking forward to getting it and fielding it for my BEF using the TFLs latest 1940 Early War Handbook.
