Hello there

My name is Einar Petersen and I'd like to tell you a little about the Reckoning/ˈrɛk(ə)nɪŋ/ project.

RECKONING /ˈRƐK(Ə)NɪŊ/ is an immersive 3D comicbook project. It is a scifi series of action and suspense, everything is covered, conspiracy, spaceships, aliens super technology and what say you.

The comic book series Reckoning is more however it is not just a comic-book series like the rest.

In fact the 5 part album series in production (more in pipeline), is actually designed and produced in a way that makes it fully accessible to read for the visually impaired and blind.

Every page of the reckoning comicbook in addition to the regular format, will be made available in a 3D (likely a vacuum formed format), with tactile pages, model outlines, and with an additional pages with braille explanations of panels all making it possible for a visually impaired reader to read and feel her/his way through the comic.

More than 50 models are already freely available for download and print and work has begun to convert prototypes of pages from the storyboard into 3D format and this is where miniatures come into the picture.

The work with Reckoning happens through Patreon and Kickstarter and right now I have a Make/100 Kickstarter running with the goal of supporting Reckoning by producing 100 numbered Miniatures from the series for 100 lucky backers.

Each backers pledge will go to produce further models for the series and if successfull there is a massive amount of materials from the series that can relatively easily be turned into miniatures and fund further development of comicbooks readable by the visually impaired and blind.

Going haptic in the near future and into cyberspace with the comic for blind readers is also a possibility with the development going on in wearables.

To go full geek it is also possible to download and 3D PRINT the models used to create each panel.

This makes Reckoning a fully explorable experience and all models produced will be easily scalable to miniature format.

I would really love to hear your opinion on the project and hope that you maybe want to be part of making it possible for me to realize the concept of a fully accessible comicbook series with the help of Miniatures.

The first Miniature to be produced is an alien of the species QHIliin from the series and is a mean looking fellow designed by Carmelo Nazario a NYC based designer.

The pure text version may still contains a few references to images and such, but it will be edited further, so consider it a draft version).

That said I would like to thank you for your time! Please let me know what you think about using miniatures as a vehicle to create something like a comicbook that is fully accessible.

And please do me and the future readers a solid and tell your miniature loving friends about this initiative.

All the best

Einar
