I was going to show off some of my trash-built terrain on the thread that I already started for my minis, but I figured it'd be better to let them stand on their own.

All of this stuff is made with around 90% recycled materials that have been rescued from the bin or fished out of a skip.

To kick it off, here's "1 Crater Cottages", a des res in the rad waste and a small defended compound all in one.

Thank you - it was a fun build that turned out better than I expected.

Simply great!

What is the hut made of... (looks like a tennis ball)?

Thanks for the compliment.

It's actually made from papier mache (Art Mache being the particular brand) using a cupcake package as a mould - the papier mache really takes on the appearance of concrete with the right undercoating and wetbrushing.

"The Block House" - made from a gift box, various pieces of packaging and a couple of bits from a terrain sprue.

Muller's Lonely Comm Tower - yoghurt pot tower inspired by the terrain featured in the original RT hardback.

That's got the classic RT look, no doubt! Very effective.

I like that dome hut, simple and effective. Would be neat to see a village of those :)
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

That was the first piece of terrain that I ever really worked on, and I was very happy with the way that it came out in the end.

Thank you - trying to put together an entire run-down sci-fi township eventually.

I'd originally intended for it to be a stand-alone dome, and I still would like to knock out perhaps half-a-dozen for that purpose.
