Personally I don't care if they match the Perry's, these are the light cavalry I have been waiting for for soooo long!!
Keep up the good work Simon and Oliver.

Exactly my thoughts!

Very great pieces! It is the first time I see a true light cavalry forItalian Wars. There were huge formations comprising several type of cavalrymen also missile armed.

Those are some jolly good looking horses, though unfortunately most of the riders seem a bit obscured.

As for scale comparisons, would you have any of the Eureka Italian Wars cavalry around?

And while we are speaking of Steel Fist, I was looking at your webstore planning for some future purchases, and noticed that some of the foot and mounted gendarmes are out of stock - any chance of a re-supply arriving within the next couple of weeks?

Some beautiful sculpting, and the costumes and armor are so true to the period.

These are GREAT!!! Seriously!
Natural poses, and really nice horses! Thats a point were many companies are having really hard time. Great stuff. The only thing I would change, it would be the swords. They come out generally too thick, but I guess it might be because of some casting requirement.
If I were you I would definately make some horse alone packs. I think they would sell very well.

PS
can I ask what material Oliver uses to sculpt in?

They also look like they could be used as Swabian League cavalry to fight the German Peasants War of 1524.

Many thanks for the kind comments.

Captain Harlock - I think that Oliver is currently sculpting with ProCreate.

Griefbringer - I'm not sure on sizing with Eureka, as I've not got any of that range. When we get them cast I'll do a size comparison as I appreciate that info is useful if you want/need to mix manufacturers.
re current stock levels, I'm waiting on an order from Griffin - they seem to be slower than usual this time and I'll chase them up....

Cheers, Simon.

I have both lines. Steel Fist Gendarmes are considerably larger than the Eureka Gendarmes, as well as the Eureka Archers (i.e., lesser gendarmes).  The difference in horse size is quite stark; Eureka on the left, Steel Fist on the right:

Those look beautiful.

What’s the latest date they’d be usable for?  1544?

Levied Troop
The references that we've collected for them are circa 1490-1530s, so if you're Ok with some slightly outdated armour for some mounted troops (...and who knows how long newly made armour was used for?), then absolutely!
Cheers
Simon.

A lot (probably most) of the Swabian League's cavalry in the 1540's were Free Lancers - lighter, non-knightly cavalry or minor gentry who couldn't afford the latest armor.

May I, very politely, ask for Steel Fist to produce Spanish arquebusiers, pikemen and sword & buckler to compliment their excellent range of Early Renaissance figures? And, if by any chance, they decide to cross the pond and also sculpt figures usable for Aztecs or Incas I would become ecstatic with joy! :D
