The Day 2011

The Blood of Heroes

Damnation Alley

28 Days Later

Turbo kid

The Stand. (not seen the movie but the book is cool)

Thanks to all for the suggestions.  I've seen most of the films mentioned at least once.  Still not quite what I am looking for.  The Lead Adventure Post-Apocalyptic figures must have drawn their inspiration from something.

Okay, it is television but there is always "Jericho" (first time I remember seeing Lenny James in anything).

What did irritate was how long it took for the power to cut out.

I thought it was Metro 2033 (game then movie), not that I’ve played or seen either.

NB: Perhaps only a coincidence but it is one of the examples listed in the forum sub-heading which dates back to when Prof W of LAM ran the forum  (“Post Apocalyptic Tskes: Apocalypse, Zombies, Fallout, Mad Max, Metro 2033, Stalker”)

"Stalker" seems unfortunately to only be available in Russian, no English subtitles.  However, I did just look up Metro 2033, and the images seem pretty spot on for the LA figures.

Stalker is certainly available subtitled and well worth the watch if you're a film fan but I don't think it had any influence on the figures you mention.

There's always "The Bed Sitting Room", providing you don't mind an absurd, Monty Pythonish type of apocalypse.

I've never seen the film of "On the Beach", but it is one of my favourite books. Bloody depressing, mind.

Edit: Just to be clear, neither of these contain skirmishing or any combat as far as I remember. But they are noteworthy nonetheless.
Plynkes, thank you, I'd never heard of 'The Bed Sitting Room', but judging by the trailer it's brilliantly lunatic, my favourite flavour of the apocalypse. There's a full version (I think) on YouTube.
Quite the opposite to The Beach, or at least the book, which IS good, but devastating.

Threads is the one set in Sheffield with steam tractors, right?

Certainly in Sheffield, I have still to watch my festive viewing (I watched it when it was broadcast). Not sure if I want to do it was a noble bill with The War Game.

I think there are three Books Metro2033, Metro2034 and Metro2035. The Russian Movie Stalker are also influence for the range, the road, water world and resident evil.

One more movie missing is The book of Eli...

Perhaps not quite what anyone here was asking for but for hilarity's sake and on the animation side of things, the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series had a Mad Max-esque special feature consisting of 3 episodes made into a single movie-length film called Raphael: Mutant Apocalypse.

I really have no idea what I'm doing.

How about The Tripods.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086818/

I like the world building in the three TV movies based on Gene Roddenbery's PAX background:
Genesis II
Planet Earth
Strange New World

"Something had happened in the dim past...! A natural disaster coupled with Radiation! The people in the bunkers lived out their lives and died dreaming of a day of return---The radiation would be gone---and the world would be left waiting---"

Another one on the humorous side. The Rowdy Roddy Piper classic 'Hell comes to Frogtown' is particularly recommended, if you like so bad they are good films. Some ideas for factions for a PA wargames too!
