The upper track isn't present on the side skirted version, must be one of them.

Needs to be visible on the non skirted version. The Aussies removed the skirts as they kept getting jammed up with jungle debris. Same with the Cents.

Where’s the upper track run on that bucket? Hoping empress will treat us with both T50 turrets and M74C turrets for the Australian buckets. The M74C version covered much of 1967-68 including, I believe, the Ba Ria and Binh Ba engagements. If it came as an extra, item that could be swapped for other turret options it would be great. The Aussie M113 also needs a new cargo hatch. Australian versions had a boxy ventilation system mounted on the hatch.

In Empress's defence and a mea culpa, this is one of the original (as Rich states) skirted ones. The recent ones (ACAV) have the return track.

I have one, but not to hand.

Apologies.

Centurion fans might enjoy a book I’ve discovered; Canister ! On! Fire! by Bruce Cameron,a hefty two volumes,a little more detailed than Jungle Tracks, it’s specifically about Centurions in Vietnam.

Why in our defence? There is nothing wrong! This is the early M113 with side skirts. The later ACAV version does not have side skirts and so has a full track.

That version is the one that we are currently looking at to fit the two Aussie turrets.

Love the firebase Paul.
Enjoying painting the ANZACS - missed the Centurion - it was sold out by the time I saw it was available :'(
Wonder if the M113 will get an Aussie upgrade???

I love these so much. Just rubs in the frustration of not being able to release the next large batch .............yet  ;)

Thanks for the comments on the ANZACs - they were a quick and easy paint, Mr Hicks at his best!.
Some pics of 4 figures from different angles as requested.
Paints used were:
Uniform base colour AK Interactive 3115 Green Uniform Lights (although Vallejo Panzer Aces 336 Afrika Korps Tank crew is very close).
Kit and pouches a mix of Vallejo 887 Brown Violet,924 Russian Uniform, 879 Green Brown and 819 Iraqui Sand.
Whole lot gets a wash of Agrax Earthshade.
Highlight with original base colour, sometimes with Vallejo Ivory mixed in.
Sometimes I'll wash uniform with diluted GW Athonian Camoshade to get a bit of variety. Also use this undiluted on webbing if more contrast needed.

Sorry badly phrased.
With skirts and without...

Another great book covering all vehicles and artillery in Nam is "Mud and Blood: Australian Army Vehicles and Artillery in Vietnam", author is Michael K Cecil and published by Australian War Memorial/New Holland Publishers.

That's the one ;)

I grabbed my copy for $10 when Angus & Robertson went under. It's a fantastic resource, and even details individual vehicle serial numbers and names in theatre.

I am tempted to paint those Aussies "nutria" brown and call them SADF of the late 1970s.  The web gear is not exactly right but it might look OK from 3 feet away.

*snip*

Thanks heaps for the guide to how you painted them! I was putting off ordering until after the full range was released, but I think I'll have to go ahead and order regardless  :)
