Lovely!
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

I am not a fan of MUTTs. My normal line of work is to make the canvas stuff for WW2 vehicles (I am in the Hitler business). Increasingly these days there are people wanting stuff for REOs, M38A1s and MUTTs (I guess they are old enough to be collectable now). My layman's opinion is that everything on a MUTT is twice as needlessly complicated as on a Willys MB (especially the seats! - anyone would think it was made by the British or Germans). The wartime US stuff had a beautiful simplicity to it that the things of other nations seem to lack. But I guess once they got to the time of the MUTT that had gone out of the window.

Anyway, that's my rant over. Despite what i just said, they have a certain something about them that is appealing to the eye. And your figures of them are very nice. Good job!

Incidentally, if anyone wants a canvas top for their Empress MUTT, you can have one for 360 quid plus VAT. Send me a PM. The only problem I foresee is that it will be about fifty times too big.  :)

Rats, I was hoping to at least assemble the vehicles from my last order before another order...

Ford’s revenge. MUTTs had a nasty record of rolling due to their axle design which meant that their sale to the civilian market in the US was heavily restricted. Apparently the US military cut up most of the surplus ones they couldn’t shift overseas.

If you want overly complex, try the Austin Champ.

Now who will be the first to paint up the Mighty Mite with Hello Kitty stickers or a Barbie paint scheme?

Interesting comment Plynkes; in the classic car world anything over 30 years old is deemed of collectable status (Ford Lazer anyone? People do however) ,here in Oz anyway. And I believe so in the UK,a VW Golf GTI recently went for over 27,000 quid! Not my cup of tea I prefer old Brits :)

Ah. That reminds me of the Ford-Revlon Mutt from GDW's Dark Conspiracy...

You are rather preaching to the choir there, mate. I could not agree more.

They were complex for their day,not so much now. It was all that waterproofing, and 5 speed synchro on a 4x4 drivetrain. You could get armour on the civilian version  :o Most ended up in Oz,they still come up for sale, however some parts are rare, like bodywork etc.
