Glad you all like them. :)

One of the main uses of this thread slowly became the option for you guys to let us have your ideas which helps with the design work.  So with this aim, and with slight trepidation  lol, what type of civilians do you actually want? Lets start with the rural types.

We have a lot planned already, starting with the rural types moving onto urban characters afterwards.

So here is your chance again to get involved  ;)

If Rural got to have the farmer working the fields. Walking to or back from work. Some village types, like a old lady smokeing while making dinner. Kids ether standing around or getting in the way. Village head.
And people with all their belongings strapped to their backs. Ether heading to market, being moved (or fleeing).
And lots of Bicycles.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Yes please. To rural farmers/villagers. Preferably both armed and unarmed men and women. Some weapon/amunition caches would be nice also. It is hard to find weapons, grenades and amunition that is not 40k scaled.

Oh yeah! Forgot armed types as well.  lol
Say some with French and or Japanese weapons(good for early French Indochina wars), some with older US kit like M1s for village guard.
They some with weapons' supplied from the north.

For me it would be preferable with people just walking or standing around. That way they are most versatile. While it would be cool with someone working a rice paddy. You can then only use them for that. If they are too "dramatic" or specific in their poses it somewhat limits their uses. If that makes any sense.

Also for my selfish uses I would like to see more women than men. As the men are off fighting the war on one side or the other..

True, the guys working in the fields is more of a vignette I guess. Maybe some with hats and some with out.  lol
Oh a side note. I like how the one Marine is sporting a WW2 helmet cover.

Civ ideas

Rice field workers
Pig herders
Fishermen, with bamboo rods or casting nets
Sampan operators and sitting family
Adults and older siblings carrying children.
Think “Platoon”....villE elder...maybe even as casualty.  Civilians huddled in hideyhole.
Moving bicycle with market goods piled high
Sitting / squatting - need plenty of these who would as likely take up this stance together when soldiers were in the village, some with arms around each other

Some are already mentioned but just to be complete:

Preferably rural types:
- walking or running men, women and children, unburdened or with tools or packs
(a shoveling farmer can only be placed in a field, but a farmer with a shovel over his shoulder can be placed anywhere)
- boy leading or riding a water buffaloe
- playing children
- Old people, village elders
- People squatting on the ground
- People standing and watching or chatting
- A constrained male prisoner
- people riding or walking a bike (very useful for Ho Chi Minh trail bearers)
- sampan operators, crews and passengers

Urban types:
- people (male in suits or shirts, female in ao dai) walking or running with bags, suitcases or newspapers
- people (male in suits or shirts, female in ao dai) on bikes or scooters
- people (male in suits or shirts, female in ao dai)riding or walking a bike (very useful for Ho Chi Minh trail bearers)
- car or truck drivers
- rikshaw drivers and passengers (male in suits or shirts, female in ao dai)
- policemen
- Newspaper sellers

Tuktuk passengers, Buddist monks, maybe a child on the shoulders or arms of a Marine,
What about "furniture" , a cocking pot on a fire , bowls with rice , Sacks with rice, and all the others mentioned above..
In hoc signo vinces

Oh, one more idea . What about injured rural types , for doing a queue at a medical aid station or a medical mission in a village?

Surely the single most iconic and powerful image of villagers in the war is that of the running, screaming, naked girl burned by napalm. Whether it is suitable for a range of toys is a matter of debate.

This suggestion may provoke distaste, but frankly I think it should.
