I received the first four packs on tuesday and I have to say these are truly wonderful! I love the attention to detail, especially the stuff some of these guys have tucked under the helmet bands - My favorite has to be the guy with what I (I hope correctly) interpreted as a "troll doll" strapped to the back of his helmet - Is there a reference photo of that? I'd love to see it! :D

Anyway, here goes:

I am really looking forward to painting up the next pack - These are a joy to paint!

Superb work!

Excellent painting. I'd also be interested in your paint selection as it looks spot on.

They look great.

Did you file the casted bases really thin or cut them loose or something?
Your bases look so thin.

Wow, thank all of you guys for your feedback, very much appreciated! :o

They look great.

Your bases look so thin.

That might be an optical illusion. :D I didn't file the bases down, I use "Extra Heavy Gel" by Vallejo to smoothen out the transition between the cast on base and the actualy base before I cover the whole base in "Stirland Mud" by Citadel.

Perfect look!  :-* :-* :-*

Would you share the paint recipe?

Here are the paints I used:

Shirts and trousers:

1. Vallejo 893 "US Dark Green"
2. Wash with Citadel "Athonian Camoshade"
3. Highlight "US Dark Green"

Flak vests:

1. Citadel "Death World Forest"
2. Wash with Citadel "Athonian Camoshade"
3. Hightlight "Death World Forest"

Webbing, pouches, helmet band, fabric part of the boots:

1. Vallejo 887 "Brown Violet"
2. Wash with Citadel "Athonian Camoshade"
3. Highlight "Brown Violet"

Helmet cover:

1. Citadel "Straken Green"
2. Wash with Citadel "Athonian Camoshade"
3. Green camo spots Vallejo 894 "Camo Olive Green"
4. Broen camo spots Vallejo 983 "Flat Earth" (really just a few small patches, like 3 or so)

I hope that helps!
