Alas Bart also failed basic training as he has the rear sight behind his head. Of course he might be aiming at something very close, say ten feet away. In that case, let’s hope he remembers that the rocket has a minimum arming distance.  ;)

He is using it as a portable flamethrower, and the target is (as they say in panto) "behind you".

I always loved the fact that the device you pressed above the rocket assembly, if you wished to close the tube without firing the rocket, was known as the detente button. Let it not be said that the writers of military training pams have limited vocabulary or a sense of history.
