That looks very good indeed!!!! Can it be used together with the marines? Does anyone have an ORBAT of Marine units using these?

No, the Marines did not use them. That said IIRC the Marines did a number of joint ops with Army mechanised forces in I Corps in 1969 but properly speaking you need to wait for the US Army or ARVN releases.

I use mostly 1/48 choppers myself although I have a 1/55 CH-46 and a 1/72 CH-53. The latter is just too big to field in 1/48.

Carlos,

You wouldn't have a photo of the CH-53 beside 28mm miniatures? It would be very interesting to see how that works

Once I’ve glued it together I might. :)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the USMC 3rd Tank Btn had some M113s, though I think they were part of btn HQ? I definitely don't recall hearing about them being used by regular marine units either though.

As far as we can see there were a few used by the USMC but not in a front line roll.

Carlos has it bang on.

However ARVN troops used them and our first crew will be these guys.

I blame a former enlisted interrogator, but I am waiting for an armoured cavalry M48A3 and two matching  M113 ACAVs.

Sorry to bother again with another question. I read up a bit about the Marines in Vietnam now and I am wondering if the individual squads had a radio or not. In a few books describing action in Vietnam they write that the squats could get in touch with the platoon headquarter e.g. when moved up as point. Is that true and if so will there be radio operator miniatures in the future for the squads not only platoon?

The marines did field a squad level radio that allowed squads to communicate with their PHQ. The Korean era AN/PRC 6 was a short range, FM band, ‘walkie-talkie’ type  set.  If they were issued at all, then they would have carried by the squad leader.

If the squad was going to operate at any distance from the platoon or company, then they would have been issued with a AN/PRC-25 or its replacement set, the AN/PRC 77.
