Thats funny I was thinking about the Minnie Moke.

I had a Corgi one which was on a parachute platform with parachute so I always assumed they had been used by the military but have never seen pictures of it so perhaps Corgi jumped the gun.

They were evaluated and rejected, Paul - 2wd and very low ground clearance meant they were rubbish cross country. There was a promo film done of 4 squaddies riding round in one and then picking it up and carrying when it got stuck... will have a dig and see if I can find it

I couldn't find the courage to search all 150-something pages of this thread so I will just ask my question here :)

Are there any plans in the foreseeable (or even near?) future to produce Vietnamese villagers?

the short answer is yes. And there will be a good selection of them if the teaseing is to be believed

I am hoping for some more Australians to round out the platoon and....... ARVN.

ARVN with Garands, ARVN with M16s, ARVN with M1 Carbines, ARVN with M79, ARVN with BAR, ARVN with M60, ARVN with 1919A4 and ARVN Command, plus advisors.

In short, a bit of variety. Compared to the gyrenes the Aussies are a bit light on.

Another packet of M16s and one of M60 gunners. Personally I'm happy with the number of Owen guns but we could really do with some more patrolling/ firing scouts/JNCos and at least another M60 team, pref patrolling pose.  An officer with a compass and an FO and his sig wouldn't hurt either. A few chaps with 66mm SRAAW (M72 LAW rockets) would be nice bit I have loose SRAAWs so I could live with out those.

Engineering splinter/ mini teams can be made from the existing chaps. If you want something exotic but only if you made a Centurion ARV you could make a chap with an M9 Flamethrower to operate from atop the damn thing. For the man who has everything an M67 RCL team would be nice. They saw occasional use in lieu of the Carl Gustav as bunker busters.

Now if you want something a bit bigger, an L5 pack howitzer and crew wouldn't go astray. They were frequently deployed into temporary FSBs by Huey or in the back of an M113. Portability was the sole advantage of the gun and of course it could do double service with your upcoming Cold War Brits and my 60s era Brits and '80s Argentines.
