Couple of Vehicles for the KNIL (Dutch East Indies)
« on: February 08, 2019, 06:50:46 AM »
Alvis Straussler AC3D and Marmon-Herrington CTLS-4
The AC3D is done, the CTLS-4 is WIP

AC3D has been printed in resin at 0.05mm resolution and has worked well.

Very interesting,
Are you intending on looking at the RAF version of the Alvis?
As It's got more of potential return. (Although I've absolutely no knowledge of the Dutch East Indies Army.  lol but the RAF version hits a few genres and game systems. Rather than a single niche all be it a niche I'll be looking up.)

Mark.

Nice!  Are these going to be commercially available anywhere?  I could really use an AC3D and a few CTLS in 15mm.

Lovely work Rich. These vehicles will enrich the period very well.

Best wishes,

Thanks all
I'm dangling them in front of Bob Emmerson (of Mad Bob Minatures) as he's got a KNIL Overvalwagen plus he deals with 3D printed masters.
He deals in 28mm though.

I'll check out the RAF version - TBH I didn't know there was one...

Hi,

How many do you want of each?
I could possible print them as at 1/100 they are pretty small.

No idea how well tey will come out though...!

I definitely want one AC3D (I work on a ratio of 1:2 or 1:3, so one model for a platoon) and I think four CTLS, but I'll check my lists when I get home.  How much do you want for them? :)

And might you happen to have a Vickers Dutchman light tank or militia-type Overvalwagen (the one that looks like a wheeled Hanomag) on file...? ;)

I've already got some Braat (regular army-type) Overvalwagens from QRF, as well as some Vickers Utility Tractors, M3 Scout Cars and Marmon-Herringtons, so I've been looking for AC3Ds, tanks and militia Overvalwagens to plug the remaining gaps in my KNIL force.

No plans for the other Overvalwagen or vickers yet I'm afraid!

I'll see how the CTLS comes out first!

I'd like to get the AC3D in 28mm, how can we do that? I have access to a couple of local 3D printers here in Oz.
Cheers,

Now I would like a turretless  Marmon Harrington.
(Quite fond of it having come across one in Home guard service.)
Rich ,
I'm pretty sure there's a line drawn plan thats floating around for all 3 marks . I seem to remember seeing when researching inter war vehicles.
