Bratsvto (Brotherhood) is a new Russian film based on real events - the attempts to rescue a downed pilot(General's son) will be called Leaving afghanistan when released in the West - from the trailer(not subtitled) looks rather good.

Nice find! Concidentally I’m just finishing off the new Eureka support weapons packs for their Soviet Afghan range and about to build a couple of choppers, Hind and a Hip.

The Bear that Went Over the Mountain and The Generals Report on Afghankstan are both good reading in English on the war.
Basically the lessons learned were just repeated by coalition forces ...
