Afternoon all,

There have been quite a few developments with my Italian Wars project recently and it was about time I put them out there.

There is a TAG Pike Block, more Foundry Gendarme, Foundry Artillery, Stradiots, Sword and Shield men and some Command Bases all featured so pop down to YG for a catch up.

Been playing with toy soldiers since the mid 70s.  Not planning to grow up any time soon.

Fantastic! The massed pike units look really effective.

Also nice to see the big unit of sword-and-shield men. I'm planning a similar Italian unit for my late 15th century project, and have been wondering whether to bulk it out with polearms and stuff or just go for duplicates of the 6 Perry sculpts. You've shown that they will work fine with just duplicates, though I might add a few headswaps myself!

Wonderful collection of figures.
Love them.
How do the Foundry figures match up with the Perry's and TAG?

very impressive , the sheer size of the units makes them look like a proper unit

I only have Foundry mounted figures in the Gendarme, they are slightly chunky and smaller compared to the Perrys stuff,  if you look closely at the Gendarme pic the rear ranks are Perry plastics. Although I wouldn't mix them in together I think they work well on the table as seperate units.

That is some impressive painting.  I love the array of banners carried by the Gendarmes.   :o :o :o
