Sitting/Driving figures
« on: February 25, 2019, 03:41:25 PM »
I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere and I've just not found it yet, but where do I get the  figures suitable for driving a Mad Maximilian styled racing car or motorcycle, that could be pressed into service for a hypothetical steam powered monowheel? I seem to be searching in all the wrong places.

1st Corps has an actual monowheel with rider.

Hi Andy in Germany
I'm sure someone will correct me/come up with better suggestions, they usually do, but you could try 1st Corps, Eureka and/or Sloppy Jalopy. Atb GDonk

Dixon have some 1930s gangsters to ride in vehicles
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Many thanks, that's a good selection to start with...

Is that the one made by tin shed gamer on this thread? He's to blame for the current project, as he showed us his monowheel just after setting forth the idea that you can make almost anything from card that you can from other materials, which set me off down this rabbit hole...

Theres a civillian motorcycle combination that has a rider in plus fours which might suit rather than the mono wheel.I'll have to check into see if I've a 'tin" casting I can take a photo of .

As promised, Kosta has done a lovely job with these. We will have some at Salute but just drop us an email if you want any.

Sorry about the slow response: There's a stomach bug going around and of course our kids have been swapping it about on a democratic basis, so I've been up all night and doing laundry much of the day.

I'm not sure that'll work either: The monowheel has developed with the rider on one side, and I realise now most have their driver straddling the 'motor', so I'll have to think again. I think I'll do some surgery on a plastic figure I have spare and look again when I know better what I'm looking for.

Sorry to waste your time Nic, I'll keep an eye on the website though...

 lol.
Always a useful piece of information. It might be worth looking at vehicle drivers and Artillery gun crews. Especially as several pieces require gunners who are seated.
If you've a picture of the drivers position it might be easier to see if I've anything you can have. Or others can recommend
(Once your home is a little less fragrant of course.)
