« on: February 28, 2019, 04:00:51 PM »
Hi,

I'm wondering if any fast playn easy to learn (kind of game you learn in a couple of turns) ruleset exists for this scale ? I already own Iron Cross.

thanks

Crossfire is company level, they are simple to learn and fast play.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

I think Rapid Fire would also be suitable.

Hi

Thank you all for your help. I already own rapidfire, and it's too complex for my taste. Crossfire looks really interesting, watching tutorials videos on youtube.

I see that it's focused on infantry combat (correct me if I'm wrong), I'm wondering about how tanks and vehicles are managed ? Does it slow down the game ? How many tanks or vehicles can slow down the game ?

Last question is about guns (pak40 etc...), is it something managed by the game ?

thanks

Crossfire is mainly an infantry game - tanks and guns are handled but are not the main focus.

Rapid Fire is not company level?  ??? Player usually has a battalion or up to a brigade's worth of forces.

thank you, Steve. I'm beginning to think that Iron cross is still the best game for my purpose.

by the way,

If there is some iron cross players here, I'd be happy to hear about their feelings on the game, and/or tweakings they may have imagined for it ;)

thanks
