Afrika Korps assault on Tarbuck (pic heavy)

Yes, we're halfway through another BA game, roughly the same set up as before but this time the tables are reversed so to speak, with the Deutsches Afrika Korps and a few Italian odds n sods assaulting the port of Tarbuck which is being held those valiant Aussies.

The Axis prep bombardment blew away some of the barbed wire on the left flank, so most of their armour along with the sole Italian squad and their CV33 flamethrower crept towards the Allied lines. We were using Dawn Assault rules and the Italians were virtually on top of the Aussie foxholes before they were spotted in the gloom.
The flames did their worst as usual and the Aussies were toast.
Photos taken after the Aussies bit the dust. Fortunately for the Allies there was an Aussie crew manning a captured 13/40 behind a barricade and it immobilised the tankette and stopped the rampage.

Meanwhile the Stug and a Pz III accompanied a squad down the main road towards the town. Unfortunately, they encountered steady fire from a dug-in captured 11/39, a 25 pdr, a 3in mortar and a Vickers MMG. Result being, the infantry were whittled away to nothing and both tanks took several pins.

The Afrika Korps General complained after the last game that he didn't have enough troops or transport, so I had to rectify this situation, apparently, the Italians weren't good enough for him. 


The Aussie 25pdr, Vickers and bottom left the mortar.

Thanks v much. I was showing some pics on my phone to someone at Hammerhead last weekend and he asked me if I'd like to take it to a few shows later this year, which quite flabbergasted me. Anyway, my friends who I game with are keen, which kind of surprised me a little, so we may well pop up somewhere with it, who knows?

The background tale was that the port was discovered by a Liverpudlian seaman washed ashore many moons ago. All his descendants can be identified by their dapper sense of dress (many tailors shops in the casbah selling natty waistcoats and gold chains) along with a gap between the front teeth. A local is known to be in the vicinity upon hearing the Corporal of the Guard shout "Sarge! Come 'ere a minute, I've got another one of 'em right comedians."

Thank you, I was inspired by your impressive work seen on here.
 I must say I find the uniforms and equipment quite easy, but getting the faces looking anything like human is very hard work on these for me. The trouble is Perry stuff is so addictive. I think they must put the same release agent in the moulds as Baccus, because just like Baccus stuff I find once I've handled their figures and painted them I can't stop myself wanting more.

I love the Helmets on the Rifles as a casualty marker.

They're the standard pinned markers from Warlord. For casualties on crewed weapons I use jerrycans as markers since all the figures, apart from spotters, are fixed to the main bases.
