OGAM Celts (mortals 07/03)
« on: March 05, 2019, 07:45:22 AM »
I've been working on some legends and a goddess for a Celtic faction for Of Gods and Mortals.

Cú Chulainn, the hound of Ulster.

Banshee

Druid

Kelpie

Púca

Epona, horse Goddess

There's a few more pictures and words over on the blog:

Lovely. Really lovely. More of a Fionn MacCumhaill man myself, but i do like that Water Horse/ kelpie.

The beardy archaeologist in me also wants the rail again the term Celt in relation to your Irish legends,  ::) but I know that's how OGAM lists them.  :)

Thank you for the kind words chaps. I hope to have some mortals (both human and equine) to share later this week.

I'd be up for doing Fionn, any suggestions for a suitable miniature?

Yes, with you on the whole Celtic Irish thing but as you say, it's what OGAM calls 'em.

Not sure about a figure. A heroic 35mm type Irish chieftain would be the way to go. This chap from Blacksun came up when I googled.

Remember that he's a giant... sometimes. Not in all the stories. And when he is a giant, he is still smaller than the likes of Benandonner. So maybe present him as Q3 C3 Big, Shooter Medium (or long) to represent the rocks that he habitually picks up to hurl at enemies, and maybe Prophesy to represent his engagement with the salmon of wisdom.

That's a nice model. Looks like he's been discontinued on their site though.

Star Hat do a Finn

Again a bit Slaine 2000AD style (not necessarily a bad thing) but I'm a bit put off by ordering from NZ.

Will keep looking I think (and I've just started on some Norse...)
