Battle Saga?
« on: October 13, 2019, 03:01:58 PM »
Is it feasible to fight battles, using the Saga rules, by using a typical warband for each flank and the center (and perhaps a reserve?)

Has anybody tried this?

Yes, we’ve done this. Works surprisingly well. You may want to put a range on some battle board abilities - say 24” from the warlord so that you don’t get abilities attacking enemies at the other end of the table.

The game flows well, we played with all players on a side having their own battle board, and with similar but not necessarily the same forces. All players on one side took their turn together. All went well, felt like a battle , everyone was involved, looked good.

We've done quite a few 2 v 2 Saga games, and I'm sure 3 v 3 would work just as well.
We did an epic Hastings game (Normans + Bretons vs Anglo-Danes + Anglo-Saxons)
