This...is my BOOMSTICK!
« on: September 29, 2019, 01:05:01 AM »
With Halloween around the corner I’m painting reinforcements for my annual Army of Darkness game.

Hail to the King, baby.

Cool! You don't see the Leading Edge models around often. What game do you play?
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

A game of my own creation based on the attack on Arthur’s castle by the forces under Bad Ash.  I have a purpose-built 25mm foam castle, approximately 200 painted Deadites, 70+ knights and men-at-arms led by Ash and Arthur, the Deathmobile and about 34 knights and men-at-arms led by Duke Henry.  Evil Sheila, the winged demon and a couple pit people usually put in an appearance as do the blacksmith and the wise man.  Nearly all the figures are Leading Edge Games but I augmented the armies with half a dozen or so Ral Partha archers for Arthur and a like number of skeleton archers I picked up at a flea market.

Sounds like a real labour of love - have you taken any group shots?

Wow, sounds like a great game and an impressive collection of models. I have a couple of blisters worth of models, mainly characters and ash variants. Don't have an evil sheila though :)

I’m not usually a fan of the horror genre because I scare easily  :? but there was something about Army of Darkness that really captured my attention.  Just goofy fun.  Not scary or serious.  I’ve watched it many times and still laugh at Bruce Campbell’s antics and one liners.  It has been a labor of love, slowly gathering and painting figures for more than 20 years. Thanks for the kind comments.  I’ll post more pics soon.

Hehe, nice. I've never seen such clear pictures of this model before. It's fun but also seems a bit crude compared to the rather detailed character models.
