Building my Mutant army...
« on: March 17, 2019, 10:38:31 AM »
I'm working on a Scavvie/Mutant force for 40k Universe gaming with a variety of systems, and I'm running out of good options to fill out the force. Hoping the LAF Brains Trust can furnish me with some sweet links.  ;)

I currently already have every Necromunda Scavvie, excepting Scavvie Boss 2, Scavvie with Blunderbuss and Scavvie with Autogun. I do check eBay semi-regularly for those I'm missing.

Both the Confrontation Scavs and the 2000s versions are too expensive for my tastes, but I'm open to picking them up if the price is right. See also: Gorkamorka Muties

I have the old Mongoose Gangs of Mega City One mutants (minus the Werewolf), though one has been converted to have wings (back in my Necro days).

Just ordered a complete set of Kolony Ferals from Pig Iron, they look like they'll fit nicely.

I have a handful of mutants I converted out of plastics, and am continuing to do so, but they probably won't make up the numbers I'm after.

So I'm looking for mutants with more of a Post Apoc/Scavvie vibe than say, Dagonites or inbred hillbillies. Any links that you can throw my way will be appreciated. Big mutants would be cool, as well as mutant animals and even cavalry, if they're out there.

I don't have pictures of my Scavs yet, so please enjoy some of my Deathwatch for the same setting:

Thanks in advance.  :D

Thanks, it's my "Land Speeder Bifrost", a counts-as Corvus Blackstar, as I don't care for the existing model.

Did a bit of research myself and found the following:

Mutant Y - Reaper

Massassi Sith Mutant - WotC Star Wars

A little shocked that there's not as much as I thought in Post-Apoc ranges...

What about the Mantic Plague range?  Not the big monstermen types, the guys with actual guns and the remains of clothing and military gear.

Also what about zombies? They could pass as lesser mutant types, not your comic book mutants but more like irradiated guys. Also CP models have some things that might suit you.

The Dark Legion Faction from the game warzone could have what you're after. There were various mutated zombie-ish sci-fi troopers in the range.
If I were you, I'd rather be me.

Some stuff by Hyacinth Games for the Wreck-age system might work?

The Gellerpox mutants from Rogue Trader would seem to fit in well. You would get your big mutants there too.

Scavies eh? Hmmm.....

Heads = Warhammer Crypt Ghouls

Torsos = Warhammer Zombies

Arms = Victoria Miniatures Universal Bare Arms -or- Universal Rolled Sleeve Arms

Additional Arms = Victoria Miniatures Bare Close Combat Arms -and- Trench Raider Weapons

Legs = Victoria Miniatures Penal Guard Legs -or- Conscript Legs

Note: I have not tried this myself so my suggestions is strictly hypothetical and I do not know if it will actually work.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look at a few of them.  :)

Not keen on Zombies or Ghouls as a basis, as I already have both a Zombie army (for Firefight) and a Ghoul army (for Age of Sigmar).

I also probably should have mentioned that for Kill Team and 40K games, the Scavs will be run using the Genestealer cult rules.
