I don't know that I had seen all of your shiny Napoleonics in one place before.  What a magnificent collection, especially when seen together.  In mass I expect they will be a spectacular visual feast!  Given the simplicity of the basing structure I expect you have a rule set in mind for them.  Do you mind if I ask your intention regarding rules?

Best,

David

As always thank for your kind comments and support...

David... Rules wise I am still a bit undecided... which is in a way why I came up with my basing.
At the moment the main rules that I have played for Napoleonics is Black Powder ... the way the figures are based should work very well... I can vary the number of stands to represent different sized units... 4 for large,3 for medium,2 for small etc.
I have also been looking at Napoleons Rules of War By Charles Galemmo... which I quite like... again this a stand based system... though for this I may have to paint up some single figures to represent Grenadier and Light Companies... no real hardship there.
I could of course go full old school and adapt Donald Featherstone’s Horse and Musket rules.
I have still plenty of time to look around... and plenty toys to paint.

All the best.  Aly

P.S. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Aly

You will not probably be surprised that my recommendation is Charge or how to play wargames by Lawford and Young. Classic rules for classic figures.

Cheers

Hi Mark...

You of course will not be surprised to learn that both these books are sitting on my shelves... along with Charles Grants Napoleonic Wargaming... which I have to admit I had forgotten I owned... :D

I think it’s going to be fun trying different rules with a new collection.

All the best.   Aly

Greetings...
Here is yet another addition to this collection...

More Prussians...

2nd Battalion 1st West Prussian Infantry Regiment...

I decided to go for the 2nd Battalion because I liked the Standard...
I have always been a sucker for a pretty flag...  I noticed one of the Grenadier battalions has a rather nice one... so they may get added to to roll call...

As always there is a little bit more on my blog...

Super job Aly. They are soooo bizarrely appealing. I fear I might do a regiment or two myself  8)

Greetings...

Thank you Helen...

Well it’s been a while since my last post... But I’ve been busy...

I’ve finished a couple more units... both Prussian/German...

Von Lützow’s and The Waldeck Infantry Battalion....
Both really enjoyable to paint...

As always there is more on the blog...
