cheers all, I'll look up Galactic Heroes then. I have the original SWMB rules, I just found they seemed a bit clunky. BaronVonJ - if you bring any to Salute, I'll either be on the Frothers table or working on the Hasslefree stand.

Full title is Fistful of Lead :Galactic Heroes.   There is another called Legend of the Galactic Heroes based on the cartoons.

I would recommend Blasters and Bulkheads for bigger battles as a two player game (e.g. up to a platoon-ish per side) and Galactic Heroes for multi-player games, where you can get up to about the same overall size as B&B but each player with a squad or so. Both are great.

Some folks have used Pulp Alley as well.
