3× Rubicon Shermans.
« on: March 23, 2019, 12:12:00 PM »
Well that's the 3 Shermans done. Rubicon Models 1/56 with 28mm Perry crew. 10 hours work almost destroyed by army painter varnish which started to frost. Somehow a stiff brush and putting them up high and warm avoided the worst of it. Still some white bits linger...but...
2×M4 with 75mm
Lead M4 with option of 75mm, an A2E4 76mm and 105mm.

Lovely stuff, and all you needed to do was give them a Polish to make them shine.

Oh wow nice. I like the variation in national markings and stowage. Do the kits come with the extra optional turrets?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

The kits with regular turrets each come with 2 turrets and enough parts to do hatches. Mountings. Co axial guns and 2 75mm a 105mm and 17pdr.

The 76mm turret kits are only 1 turret.

Many of the kits also have a choice of 2 entire hull tops

As James says, the 76mm M4A3 kit has one complete turret (two different turret types though) plus three different sets of running gear, VVSS, VVSS with extensions and HVSS. The M4A2 76mm kit only has the two versions of the VVSS.

The published instructions are a great resource, you get a good idea of the kit before you buy, plus when you lose the instructions (would I?) you have a back up (okay, it was the bonus 76mm turret in the T34/85 kit).

Worth buying just for the spares!
