I'm preparing to introduce Gaslands post apocalyptic car racing to my gaming club.
I'd like to see more of this game on the Lead Adventure Forum, so thought I should set an example and document my progress here...

Scenery:
Car wrecks.
The rust effect painting looks far more vivid in real life, painted with layers of Windsor and Newton burnt umber and cadmium orange hue.

Work in progress on the Car Warriors...
Although I never played the game Dark Future and foolishly thought it a foolish concept when a child, I'm now hooked on the genre and aiming for a similar aesthetic to those images from early White Dwarf artwork. I'm planning to restrict myself to vehicles that would have been available during that late 80s time period.

Some tracked bikes.
Using cheap Axis and Allies Kettenkrad models as a donor vehicle.

I wanted to document the builds before butchering them with my crude paintjobs!

Metal bits include brass tube and rod from model shops.
Crew figures are from Elhiem.
They have several excellent ranges. So far I've used helicopter pilots, survivors, French mortar crew, drivers, armed females and armed female hugging dog.
Elhiem also offer kit suitable for stowage and vehicle weapons and accessories.

Plastic bits include sprue from model kits, rectangular, circular and hexagonal slotta bases from EM4 and also weapons taken from EM4 mechs (steel warriors).

Canvas tarpaulins are made from fine cotton material soaked in PVA wood glue.

I'm looking forward to getting some paint on these and putting them in action on the gaming table!

Cheers,
Andy
