I have seen parachutes in blue thurchise, yellow curry and white. For the drop canisters dropped to the danish resistance.
The canisters themselves seems to be green or black.

The colour of chute is mission specific it was intended to stop the enemy gaining the advantage of cherry picking targets amongst drops.
There are lists of colour chute allocation on specific missions Arnhem being one of the best documented.
The canisters were often painted with issue vehicle paint so brown black and green. Even sand.(shades are more dependent on your collection of paints.)
Personally I just painted mine white and an orange/red. Other colours tend to look odd on a table.
Mark.

For gaming these sorts of lists are useful if not ideal if a little sanitized ( by multiple authors and historians.) With the myth of Dday being 100% catered for it wasn't, it was as near as possible and practical.
The reality is there was a shortage of coloured chutes .So what ever was available / had the most of were substituted. Unless your doing more than half a dozen I'd stick to only a couple of colours
Otherwise it looks disjointed .
Slightly embarrassing I check my collect after commenting as I could remember what green I'd used on mine. Turns out I've only painted the wicker ones ;D

It'll be useful for visual a record . However colours become virtually redundant ( thats a little strong less important and relied upon) After Dday .
For a couple of reasons . Source/ supply and the operational need to reallocate colour coding( people forget and revert to what they know.) But important drops become more sophisticated than just chucking stuff out the plane in to an area.
There's series of air lanes that crisscross a dropzone in multiple directions. Teams are assigned lanes and respond to planes /drops along that lane tracking that particular payload.
Lanes are also assigned to cargo types. It become a totally nutty and exhausting experience but efficient compared to the original single lane dropzone.
It's also worth deciding which drop you wish to represent.
An initial drop or a resupply. As they are different animals. Much the same as As Air portable isn't the same as Airborne.(something warlord never figured out.)
