A friend of mine is going to cut me some vinyl letters for the logo - not sure I could freehand it neatly enough!

We are going to be well served for Arctic gear as we have a small Snow-Cat and a Ski-doo in our upcoming Sally 4th Classic Movie Miniatures Mountain & Arctic Kickstarter!

My skidoo and first Jamesway hut
(I know the jamesways have fabric roofs but this will do for now)

I need 4 huts so they will all be different.  I'm hoping to make the roof removable somehow on the others but I've not figured it our yet as the corrugated card is strong when curved like this but extremely fragile if not supported well.

I also need a surfaced sub, an icebound ship, an arctic base, loads of icey things like crevasse fields, pressure ridges, thin ice, and so on....

Interesting developments :)

As for supporting the corrugated card, how about 3-2 mdf arcs, connected with with 2-3 strips of mdf the lenght of the hut (minus the thickness of the two walls).

Its hard to explain but basically a # where the horizontal lines are curved?

They would only be visible when the roof is removed so it shouldnt offend anyone.

I started down that route, I even drew it all, then figured it was all to hard...   lol

Might try again and turn this one into a burned out wreck.

Rich,
I was contemplating vinyl floor tyles as a base .Should be easy to represent most of the tiles .It should easily work for the ice bound ship, and submarine by pushing the base model up from underneath.Through a shaped hole in the tile.
Just a musing at the moment.( it means standing in B&Q hoping no one asks me if I need any help. Because you know the look your going to get when you say what you want them for.)

 lol

Will work fine, good idea.  I was plannign on using polystyrene tiles but can't find 12/12...

Like when I was in Games workshop buying paint and the GW minion asked what army it was for and I said a 1947 Soviet scout platoon.  I got a "Oh cool...." ###Does not compute###out of cheese error### and he just backed away....

(If you don't know what we are on about then all will become slightly less murky in due course... ;D )

They've stopped asking me Anything!

I'd also thought abought using the tabletop protector you get at Dunelms .White felt one side and pvc the other .

This weekend, I'm going to be starting making some Terra-Former 12" tiles for this.
Very excited, I've had snow & arctic tiles on my 'must try' list for several years now.

I was thinking of reversing things and having my snow felt cloth with 12" squares of wadding covering it up instead.

I think both version are possible from the one source.

No one told me they were so big...  this is a guppy2 class fin at 1/56 scale.  Its massive....
