They are pretty big ;) I did look at shrinking the scale but to keep room for a 25mm base on the bridge I couldn't easily.  I was going to shorten it but figured in for a penny..... lol

Now I was thinking a little more like this would be more likely to change the colour of the snow once sighted. ( slightly under gunned compared to the bigger subs.)

Had you gone with an early SSN, like USS Nautilus you could have had a substantially shorter sail.

Fascinating project btw.

It's the 'Tigerfish' from Ice Station zebra.  So appropriate to the theme  :D

Curiously the first thing SWMBO said was "there better not be a submarine to go under that"
I was impressed she recognised it for what it was actually :-*

You didn't happen to show here what you've written?
Because it's literally on the cards.

I modelled a similar (although slightly smaller version) for Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy back in 2015.

Here is an image;

You can find details in W, S & S issue 76. I always intended modelling the ice flows but never got around to it.

Yours looks great. As usual!

Looking good!

Tony - great painting, I really like the use of silver/washes.
