Toyed with the idea of the odd mammal too .
There's also another thread I can't remember the name of . It covered a modular board idea which fit into a carrier bag. It might be worth a trawl for.

Character looks great, and an Arctic wildlife pack is certainly on the stretch goal list as I'd really to see some mammals in the game too.

I've assembled 12 winter germans as generic bad guys and Iv'e cut the roof out of the first Jamesway hut to make it removable - just need to add the frame to the roof.

Next will be:
2 more huts - possibly different designs
1 boat trapped in the ice (smaller than Chris's!)
1 Arctic base - 4 more huts

My polystyrene has arrived too so I need some hardboard to amke up the terrian tiles.

Possibles:
Another 3d print vehicle - Sweedish Snow-Trac.

Tiger Minis stuff turned up  4x Archeologists 4x Explorers on skis and 5 wolves.

They are on the larger end of the 28mm scale and make the warlord plastics look a bit small!  The wolves are on the small side too.

Even so I'll base them up and see what they look like with a bit of paint.

I also got my Britains plastic polar bear and walrus from the 1970's - demould-lined adn undercoated they will be fine.  Going to base everything I reckon.

Finally my polystyrene tiles arrived.  They are 500x500 (annoyingly 300x300 don't seem to be a thing anymore) so Ive gone for 250x250mm terrain squares, I was going to make them 300x300 but it would involve an awful lot of waste.  Plus the change in tile size doesn't really marke much difference, just the encoutners will be a little closer...  Sharp scalpel and they are all cut up.  Table of simple textured terrain for £8.99

Next will be adding some 3d to the board, I'll be making up scatter to represent crevasses, pressure ridges and the like.  Plus I need to make a hole for the sub sail and a boat.

Sounds great. We're on holiday in Scotland over Easter weekend so no progress on the Sally 4th offering until next weekend, although mind is still active and working on new ideas!

Tiger mininis skiers look better than I anticipated. Where do the polar bear and walrus come from?

For those who don't have the mdf fu of Rich and Chris.
This would make a good stand in for an arctic base/building.
