Suitable For Land Covered In (Martian) “Red Weed”?
« on: April 05, 2019, 06:00:12 PM »
Check out these two (flannel?) fabrics:

Stonehenge Maplewood 22020-34

Both are by Northcott Fabrics:

Would any of those work as a playing surface for depicting land that has been “terraformed” by aliens, such as Martians?

Thoughts?

Iike the first one as it looks transitional, with hints of both the old and new landscape.

Currently working on my own War of the Worlds project (15mm invasion battles between tripods and Imperial British forces, on temporary leave from gaming duty in the Anglo-Zulu War), so in time, red weed shall be creeping along my battle-board as well.

Not sure of what the weight of the fabric would be as the site describes their products as cotton that feels like silk.  It might be too thin for a viable gaming cloth.  But the price would be right.
