40k Shenanigans
« on: April 07, 2019, 08:17:20 PM »
A while ago I started accumulating a hoard of bits for creating a 40k Kill team, as well as for playing around with rules like Rogue Planet, Scrappers, Starport Scum etc.

What I found that I lacked was a suitable head honcho. Preferably an evil genius, deluded idealist and Utopian dreamer. Someone who could tie together some Corporate Security types, bounty hunters, psychics, aliens and crackpot experimental monsters into a coherent narrative. Trawling through my lead bucket I found a suitable shoe-in for the job; introducing Darius Yutanovitz:

A lovely sculpt from Crooked Dice’s 7TV range, I think he works pretty well. He’ll be joined by a rogues gallery of flunkies, mostly from GW, but I quite like how he will stand apart from the crowd.

There’s a load of wordy nonsense on the blog if anyone’s curious.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Painted up an employee over the last couple of evenings, this is a Yutanovitz Security trooper:

Sadly the poor chap is a bit wonky on his base, down to being a rather heavily damaged eBay bargain and my lack of willingness to spend much time sorting him out..... let’s just say he’s dodging a laser beam! Bits wise he’s just a tech thrall body with a scion’s arms, super simple but I love those tech thralls.

Here is a super close up of the helm, taken using a nifty new toy - the Magniband, which is basically a lens on a rubber band that you strap to your phone. Really need to find some bugs to photograph  :)

Associated fluffy stuff is on the blog.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!

Something a bit different (for me), first member of a Chaotic Kill Team:

Quite pleased with how he turned out, experimented with oil paints over acrylics on this chap too which was interesting.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks folks, painting the Chaos chap was surprisingly good fun and I'm looking forward to getting some more done. Maybe the fact they’re so OTT makes it easier to be a bit free and easy.
