The Final Few Musketeer Minis that were left on my workbench
« on: March 08, 2007, 05:09:04 PM »
...are finally finished:

Planchet

Looking rather satanic, I think. He seems to be quite a ruthless person in the books, so I left him that way.

M. Bonancieux

Hired Blade

Serving Wenches

Cardinal's Men

These have been painted rather fast as they are suppsed to be cannon(errr, blade) fodder.

My Gaming Table is finally finished, too! Driscoles is coming around tomorrow to play a few rounds on it and saturday, it will be on display at his con up here in Kiel. Photos of the table in Action are to follow as soon as I have the time...
Regards!

Great job! I particularly like Planchet and the Hired Blade, but you get lots of credit for painting up the civilians as well. Enjoy your games (take lots of pictures) and confusion to the Cardinal!

Those Cardinal's Guards are really cool, too.

Who makes those figures?

That M. Bonancieux was clearly modelled on Spike Milligan's portrayal in the Richard Lester films. He was one of my favourite comedians*, and I loved his World War Two memoirs too.

Owning a Spike Mini would be great. I also want one in khaki fatigues and holding a trumpet please, Mr. whoever makes these figures.

*On his gravestone it says "I told you I was ill." Classic.

@All:
Thanx for the nice comments!

@Pete Murray and Operator 5:
Pics of the table will be made this evening...

@Plynkes:
The figures are all produced by Eureka Miniatures, scale is 40mm. They all are based on the Richard Lester film from 1973.
I have painted the whole range of them and posted them somewhere else in this forum. You are the first to have spotted the likeness to Mr. Milligan, wait till You have seen the photo of the D'Artagnan miniature.

Planchet doesn't look quite as much like Roy Kinnear (facially I mean, it's obvious that it is his character by his clothes and accoutrements) but it is still a nice figure.

Hi Vikotnik,

looks very good. Iam looking forward to see you this evening and for testgaming and the great table.

Tomorrow is our anual Convention Do or Dice in Kiel. And Vikotniks table will be one of the highlights there. We will feed you all with pictures after the con.

Hope soon the pictures will be up, the miniatures are far better in
reallity than on this pictures.

Like your color sheme on the cardinals guard more than the
original sheme from the movie, more contrast colors on yours
(in the movie they are all red and yellow).

Fantastic idea with the courtyard and well, a must see for all
(and yes he had clotheslines on the tabletop).

Not only is it wire, it is a rectangular steel wire measuring exactly 0.5x0.65 mm, if I recall correctly. The stuff some people have access to is just incredible.

Is it really wire? I´d rather recommend using steel fixing pins (Stecknadeln), since they appear to be a bit more stable than steel wire... I used one with my Pirate Queen:
