Space battle matts - to buy or to make?

I went to my local fabric supplier and found glittered black felt.  It looks like a starfield.

You can also find ones with printed star field patterns. Though it's always subject to a locations stock.

I made mine, though mine are on wood and not fabric. They aren't hard, and don't take very long at all.
