Looking for suggestions for giant miniatures for GOT
« on: April 18, 2019, 03:31:34 AM »
Could anyone suggest suitable figures for giant's to be used in GOT games? Not to large, Martin talks of them as being around 13-15 feet tall, so just over double the height of a normal 28mm figure.
Likewise, figures that could be the mountain, who is described as being 8 feet tall?
Thank you for any ideas.

the smaller Reaper Bones Giants are about that size. the larger versions are about 3x a normal figure's height.

scale image from their Bones III kickstarter:
regular reaper adventurer fig (~28-30mm scale, their stuff varies a bit) with the old sculpt (left) and resculpt (right) fire giant bodyguards.

they also have cavemanish hill giants (which i believe are the smaller size), vaguely celtic cloud giants (i beleive the smaller size), and norse themed ice giants (the larger size)

I’ve got them, and they do indeed look good, but tiny compared to the Wun Weg I’ve got from Elladan

There is also the official collectable statue from Eaglemoss but he is pretty big (15.9 cm!).

I used this plastic Frost Giant from the CMON Blood Rage game. Not sure how you get him normally, I got him on his own and pretty cheap, by typing "frost giant" into eBay's search engine.

Maybe not exactly like the ones in the TV show (or books, I wouldn't know), but good enough for me, and an absolute joy to paint.

There's timing, I've got a Blood Rage Mountain Giant I was going to sell this weekend if you're interested.

'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Ooo didn’t know about that one - he should fit in well with the Elladan Wun Weg

He appears to be out of stock on their website but could probably be tracked down on ebay etc...

Slightly off topic, I hadn't realized the sizes on the two generations of Reaper Bones fire giants were so far apart from one another.

Also FWIW, the Hill Giant and Cloud Giant mentioned are definitely the "small" size, and are quite compatible with the early fire giants.
