Cool!

Also, the electro-whips are usually used to charge electric machinery, or - when wrapped around an iron core - work as a huge electro-magnet!

Love it! I've dabbled in 6mm skirmish myself, it's great fun. Scenery is cheap, everything can be stored in a small box.
Trick is to find a ruleset that isn't too finicky about true line of sight, cover and so on. Here is a battle report I did back in the mists of time, it was solo so rule of cool was the main motivation.

@Ockman - Ahhhhhh, I really couldn’t imagine an even vaguely practical use for those things!

@The_Baron - cheers! Sound advice sir, I was intending to use guesstimations and whatever would seem fun. Since I’ll probably be soloing it’ll be a pretty chilled out affair. Great battle report and my word, what a wonderful collection of gorgeous minis and scenery! Thanks for the link.

More progress on the Mechanical front with another finished unit (I know, I know, easy tiger!), this time some hooded Skitarii:

With a couple of macro shots:

And I'm even throwing a building together. You can make some pretty imposing stuff at this scale:

Thanks for looking!

So very impressive, so very cool!

I love your work!

PS. Have you deleted your Instagram account? I can't seem to find it...

Cheers man!

I was jealous of your impressive 15mm city, so I decided to make a smaller one.

Yeah, I deleted the Instagram account. I found that I spent waaaay to long looking at other peoples (often very impressive) work instead of doing anything myself so if was becoming more of a distraction than anything else. Also, some of the ‘political’ stuff that flies about was a bit unsettling so I just went ‘to hell with it’ and am back to really enjoying the blog and forum world!

These look absolutely ace.

What are you basing them on - 10mm rounds, 2mm thick?

Last time I tried individually basing 6mm I made the mistake of adding magnets like I do for everything else. Was fine using my magnetic painting holders, but then when I put them down they were too light and the magnets just bunched together. Durp!  lol

Hope you get some vans and lorries to accompany them today! haha

Thanks! Yup, 10mm by 2mm thick mdf rounds. Like you I have popped 2mm x 1mm magnets in them but they seem to be ok when close together (he says).

The vehicles are lining up ready for painting as I type this very message...... they look the proverbial cat’s pyjamas!

Great!  :D

Ah - that's the mistake I made, I used 3mmx2mm magnets (which is what I use for my 15mm bases). To much pull.

These are really cool. And quite bonkers! 6mm skirmish!! Looking forward to seeing more, the terrain is looking very promising.

We’ve always gone for more is more with 6mm and end up with huge armies, but I’m really liking the detail and look you have on these figures.

@Jagannath - must be, those tiny magnets are surprisingly powerful!

@Fred - Thanks man! The nice thing about painting at this scale is the immediacy of it, I started a 28mm figure a few days ago and still haven’t finished. In fact I got bored and painted these guys instead (in a fraction of the time!):

Vanguard Skinnerz, or red Orks. Whatever, they’re a bunch of kunnin commandos. There are some pretty groovy specialists who are in the painting queue.

Thanks for looking.

Wow, lovely red Orks. If I weren't so adamant with not expanding my hobby, I'd love to get into 6mm minis, but I think I'll use my limited hobby time to one scale, one project.

To me Instagram has always been a great source of inspiration, and with my time being very limited (I have two children, 1½ and 3½), I can browse a bit while putting them to sleep. It's not like I check Instagram instead of painting myself, it's rather a way to keep up with the hobby.

I want to build a massive structure with multiple height levels as well. It's been sloshing around my head for a while, to build more intricate, larger pieces.

Cool Orks  :D

Yes the speed of painting small scales is great, I’ve recently done a load of 10mm WWII infantry and they are so quick to do. I sometimes find 6mm a bit slower, but mainly as I need to correct mistakes, but now I have new glasses, I should get the space marines lurking at the back of my desk finished.

@ Ockman - cheers man. You’re a much more focused hobbyist than I. Far too easily distracted which is why I’ve go things in most scales..... unpainted of course.

@ fred - Thanks! I always end up being defeated by bigger scales, at least I can get things finished at 6mm. I keep nearly starting with my 10mm fantasy again, without doubt some of the best sculpts I own!

Today’s addition is a sample civilian hover pickup truck from bladesandblasters (whose 15mm scenery also works pretty well for 6mm, but more on those in another post):

With some figures for scale:

A super little model which paints up really easily, and will be perfect to rush deliveries to hapless locals through badland townships while dodging battling kill teams.

Great job, Grumbledook!
