Ee you’ve done a great job on that! That’s the first of my minis I’ve seen out and finished in the wild :) I’m working out the best way to bring some 6mm bits to the shop, so I’ll be putting those up soon I hope.

That pics is really helpful too - good to see the new Cyber chaps next to the older ones - you’re right, they are a bit chunkier but perfectly acceptable I reckon.

What’s next for this project?

I've got to say "great work" to Jagannath as well!

Thanks dude - it’s the painting that’s made it though.

@Ockman - Thanks, it is a super little model!

@Ultravanillasmurf - Cheers!

@Jagannath - Thanks man, it was a joy to paint! Really looking forward to seeing you produce some more of these since I’ve got Gaslands and Gorkamorka rules somewhere and 6mm could be the scale of choice! Currently on the painting table is a unit of Novan Elites who might look good in retro Index Astartes Alpha Legion purple. As well as a ton of other stuff including some of your terrain.

Ooh cool - can’t wait to see it all.

You’ve got me thinking. About 6mm gaslands now - not sure my skills extend to fast, sleek vehicles but maybe I can try. The big lorry would definitely work repurposed for Orks though! You’ve inspired me to revisit my 6mm Ork Warz project!

Some new additions to the micro skirmish collection, in the form of an Alpha legion squad. I’m not to fond of the metallic blue (with 80s hair metal accessories) finish, so went with the Index Astartes Purple:

I’ve also had a think about the practicalities of moving a full unit of very fiddly figures about..... behold, the magnetised movement tray!

Thanks for looking!

He’s back!

These look fantastic. I’ve got some waiting to go and give a Citadel Contrast experiment (seems like it’s actually going to be quite useful with 6mm fully armoured minis).

Lovely work the the best scale  :D

I've been getting a feeling that contrast paints might be big in 6mm, if nothing else.

Yeah - they weren’t great on my little astronauts but on some 6mm ‘classic’ epic space marines I printed (copies of the old plastic marines) it worked quite well - one coat, one shape highlight then detail. Much quicker for me.

I also used snakebite all over those Kasrkin from thingiverse to do all the cloth. Now I just need to detail the armour.

Those look good. I've heard from others how the contrast paints might be great for 6mil... guess there's only one way to find out.  ::)

Cheers chaps! The contrast paints do appear to be all the rage at the moment, but I simply have far too many paints as it is. My process tends to be base colour, wash, base colour again then a highlight...... so not complex enough to warrant a change methinks.

I quit that scale for skirmishing but your stunning miniatures are making me wanting to start all over again!

It’s really amazing how good your models look. Makes me want to start pocket 40k (or better: 30k) again!

Being forced to stay in does tend to make one re-examine the old lead-wall. And, while chipping away, I was drawn to my 6mm micro kill team/Rigue Planet/Inquisitor project which has been in stasis for more than a year! Yikes!

Well, without further ado, here’s another batch of Mechanics Rangers..... in a snazzy green:

Thanks for looking!
