Simple railway signals
« on: April 26, 2019, 04:01:47 AM »
I wanted some railway signals for the Chain of Command Westwind scenario The Signal Box at Seerappen as it's often those little extras that help lift a table and give it more personality. I resorted to scrathbuilding some, so thought I'd share how I did it. The full build is here https://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com/2019/04/a-simple-set-of-railway-signals.html

I started with an industrial lamp from model rail supplier Model Scene:

And then used plastic card to scratch build the semaphore arms:

TP,
I really like your build. Do you have some interim photos to help out someone like me that doesn't find the "in between" intuitive? Once again, nice build.

Yes, there’s much more interim detail if you click through to the blog post.

You'll need a painting table for the signalman...  ;)

Very nice scratch built signal. Is it supposed to be located in Germany? From the look of it, I'd say so.
If so, it has two rather obvious flaws for railway nuts. The lower arm should be mounted with the disc showing upwards and the upper arm should be pointing to the right if it is meant to say "STOP". It would be placed on the right side of the track.

Grosse-West lower-aspect signalling, perhaps?  ;)
