Looking for a giant
« on: April 26, 2019, 01:41:39 PM »
I want a giant for my fledgling goblins warband. Looking at the GW giant (or gargant is it now named), I quite like it. Does anybody know how tall the model is? In mm please if you can handle that.  lol

Or, does anybody have any recommendations on a model. I have a budget of around £32 (that's the price of the GW model so seems like a decent amount to spend). Must be readily available, please don't tell me to get a Marauder 1993 model, or similar.

Thanks guys, look forward to your suggestions.

Can't help you on the "Ale-Guzzler Gargant™" sizes but you did ask for alternatives.

The Mantic giant is pretty cheap at £24.99 and comes with alternate bits, it's huge though so it depends on what you want.

I'm a fan of the old cyclops from The Dark Eye range which is still readily available from Ral Partha for the low price of £9.95. It's a reasonable size as well for that price. Pictured with my Gargantua Orcs for scale.

Some of the reaper Bones giants are quite good... and relatively cheap...

The "downside" is that they aren't all the same size. Some might look quite "small" for giant.
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

This guy's an extreme budget option, but I'd imagine that he'd go as well with Adams goblins as he does with Perry orcs:

You can get him and three friends for a grand total of six quid (including postage) on eBay.
