Some Sci-fy stuff from Salute
« on: May 03, 2019, 03:28:20 PM »
Just some of the goodies from this years Salute.

From Micro art.  They are solid foam and the details are more than acceptable.  Just need some oils and powders and I can call them done.

From Warbases.  Just added a bit of card to hide the fact that it is a MDF kit.  All in all it is a good kit.  If you get one be careful with the treads as they can break.  Added a base to stop that and added a pallet to stop the forks from breaking.  Left the pallet clear so I can load it with crate stacks/barrels/stacks of pallets.
Hope you like.

I have pondered buying that skid steer before. You did a good job of not making that look like a vehicle made out of MDF. Awesome work!

Nice work on the lifter.

Good idea on the tracks and forks.

It is a solid kit for a good price so I would recommend it.  The only other detail I added was a green stuff to pad out the seat.  My only gripe is that it does not have any hydraulics and there is no articulation real or implied for the forks.  My work area was a mess and I could not find any solder so I built it without adding hydraulic pistons on.  Might pick up another one later and have a go.
