Steve Barber Fantasy Gangsters
« on: April 11, 2019, 06:19:33 PM »
I have commissioned Steve Barber to do a few 1920s Fantasy gangsters for me. We are hoping to turn it into a range of figures.
This would include Elf, Dwarf, Halfling and (maybe) Goblin gangs and then Orc policemen with Troll FBI. Steve has finished a
Dwarf and Elf gangster that you can find on his facebook page. https://m.facebook.com/SteveBarberModels. Steve is also in contact
with a gentleman that is currently working on a set of rules for the fantasy 1920s gangster era. The size is 28mm on the larger size.

We would love to have others back the project. Just contact Steve on his web site if you are interested.

Following your commissions with great interest!
I love Steve Barber's commission service; especially for great, esoteric stuff like these.

Looks intriguing.  But what's the actual size please?  Typical human figure, toe to eye: 30mm, 32mm, 35mm?

Heroic 28mm. Is that the term I am looking for?
That would be the size.

Interesting idea...I thought that someone had done a fantasy version of pretty much every period or genre....but I was wrong

Will look forward to seeing how these progress.

That is an oft-used term, but does not at all help convey the actual size of the figures and give a clue as to what all they might be compatible with.

A toe-to-eye measurement in mm of a typical figure is what helps most to convey the size.

That is true Cat. But, I don't have the figures yet so I am just telling what I know.
As of now, two figures are done and Steve is working on a Halfling and Orc.

I have commissioned the entire range so there will be a number of figures coming.
Gangs of Elves, Dwarves, Halfings (With an Ogre), and Goblins as well as Orc police and FBI.
You could contact Steve Barber and he could probably tell you more about the exact size.

Interested to see these. I have a large collection of buildings (enough for a city centre that covers 6' x 4') and considered using the terrain with a mash-up of rules between The Chicago Way and Frostgrave to play scenarios inspired by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Goblin gangsters could be very handy....especially if they look like Ron Pearlman.
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Yes, it is the biggest step I have ever taken as a wargamer.
But my hope is that others will really enjoy the range and
buy the figures from Steve who is a great guy. I love the
figures he has so far produced for the range.
